Which project you did ?

Create a physical labyrinth or maze that is challenging for a member of your family to solve.

This week I have decided to build a labyrinth/ maze.

I searched in the internet for some inspiration, because I wasn't quite sure how exactly I wanted to build a maze.

First I made a sketch, as always. I had a good plan, now I just needed the right box for it.

I searched the whole house for a suitable box and then I found one in my room. My grandparents had sent me a package for Christmas and it was the right size. Not too small, but also not too big.

I cut it in the middle, because the box was too high and then I used the rest of the box to make the "walls". So my whole maze is made out of just one box.

I used tape to fix everything.

I build it for my host sister (5 years old). She was so happy when she saw it and wanted to try it out immediately. Now she plays with it all the time :) and she really wanted tp paint it, so she is painting it as I write this.

What you learned by doing it ?

I have learned that it is relatively easy to make a maze yourself and that you really don't need much for it. Just a box, tape and scissors. And you can keep kids busy with that for a really long time.

What went well ?

I was astonished that I could actually cut the box quite well and also make the walls look good with it. I could bend the cardboard really well.

By making a sketch, I already knew where exactly a wall should be and so it worked out really well.

And of course I was very happy that my host sister received it so well.

What didn’t go so well ?

Sometimes it was hard to glue the walls. First I tried another tape, but the walls fell down immediately, but then I used a better one and it worked very well.

Include photos or videos if possible.
