Which project you did ?

Design and build a Catapult that will launch a light object at least 4 feet.

I've decided this week to build a Catapult.

My first step was again to think about what I need to build a catapult. Because I already made a sketch in advance, it was also very fast to search everything together. When I built everything together I noticed that it does not really work. So I decided to design a new sketch and build a new catapult.

Finally it worked, after several attempts.

My object to fly was first a small marshmallow, but then I also tried it with a chocolate-egg.

Both worked really well and even got more than 8 feet.

What you learned by doing it ?

try it out, try it out, try it out.

I tried it all the time and if it didn't work, I changed something.

I also built 2-3 catapults until it finally worked. I had to show my patience again and again.

And I learned that rubber bands are my best friends, I've used so many :)

What went well ?

It worked out really well when i finally had my final catapult and the objet flew more than twice the amount of the actual exposure. I was really happy about that after all the work and testing.

What didn’t go so well ?

The first catapults didn't work very well. I tried to make them stable and to make them reach the desired distance, but they kept falling over or had too little momentum, so the object couldn't get any further. Then I thought it all over again and fixed it, and in the end it came out.
